The Hippodrome Casino: Fun, Food & Motion Art

Music, food and whole lot of fun

Creating a strategy to help build awareness and footfall for one of London's most iconic West End venues sounds a lot easier than it looks. The Hippodrome is one of London's most familiar buildings, left to decay over the decades it has slipped from Londoners conscious minds.

Revitalising the building and its public perception was and is a task that requires a delicate touch. The building's re-birth as a World class Casino, outstanding restaurant and live music cabaret venue offers something for everyone.

Crab's involvement in the project started over 2 years ago. Initially working with their internal team we set out the online strategy, moving into setting up the holding site and helping to build a database of interested consumers.

Hippodrome Facebook and Twitter Feed

A few weeks prior to launch the Crab team launched the Facebook and Twitter feeds for The Hippodrome. We have been steadily building an engaged community. Taking advantage of the Facebook timeline we were able to create a historic review of the Hippodrome's many lives across the decades.

The website is a vital piece of our strategy as it would not only allow users to book a variety of acts at The Hippodrome but also acted as a magazine for consumers and the internal team to share and engage with each other. The bespoke CMS allowed the team to create and upload stories simply and easily.

Along with Blogger Outreach activity, SEO and SEA (Google Ads Words, Promoted Posts and Facebook Fan Gen Ads) we monitor the site and report back to the team and help develop content.

As hardware costs reduce the ability to create larger and larger video walls in spaces like the Hippodrome become not only possible but a necessity. Consumers expect so much more and the adoption of smartphones and other intelligent digital devices has increased the average consumers expectations of what is possible. Our motion art content was based on celebrating the new live and the Hippodromes new incarnation, fun, glamour, celebration, gaming and music combined into a a short film.
